Pete and Panos co-organised, along with Dr Ken Valyear, from the Hand-and-Brain lab, School of Psychology and Sport Science, Bangor University three workshops on Human-computer Interaction-enabled stroke rehabilitation, between the 16th and the 22nd of June.
The workshops brought together clinicians, from Ysbyty Eriri and Deeside Community Hospital, working on stroke rehabilitations, along with Neuroscientist, Sports Scientists, Engineers and Computer Scientists, to discuss how HCI flavors, such as XR and Human-Centred AI (HCAI), can provide opportunities for more effective, patient-centric services. The last day had a presentation from Dr Gavin Buckingham from the University of Exeter.
The workshops were supported by Bangor University’s cross-disciplinary seed-corn project, funded via an internal competition and using the Wales Research Environment and Culture (WREC) 2025-26 funding allocated to Bangor by Medr.
